In a SHRM meeting today on Succession Planning/Talent Management, the presenter provided a great presentation that I’ve asked for and if I receive, I’ll attach as a link. My take away from the message was that in making an organization’s strategic plan vibrant and ennobling, we must lead with our heart, head and hands or with our passion, values and talents. I’ve taken some liberty to put the message in the context of selling oneself.
As I was thinking about my Passions, I include the following. I have a passion for:
· Performance improvement
· Best Practices/Benchmarking
· Team processing
· Employee Accountability
· Rewards, celebration and positive reinforcement
Thinking about my Values, I enumerate the following:
· Integrity
· Problem Solving
· Customer Service
· Continuous Improvement
· Creativity
· Partnering
Thinking about my Talents, I include the following:
· Engaging employees and managers to search for purpose and excellence
· Aligning strategic initiatives with people and processes
· Identifying and modeling key roles and influencers
· Identifying key leadership dimensions and develop training to build the bench
· Developing emotional intelligence strategies to coach, mentor and embrace organizational change
· Implementing Baldrige performance auditing checklists and balance scorecards to track success
· Embracing a cultural optimization strategy
